BLCC January Work Camp (1.15.11): an Appetite for Production

December 22, 2010

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great Holiday season. We have another work camp coming up on the weekend of January 15th!

What we will be doing:

– Trails: maintenance and preparation for marking
– Preparation for spring burning
– Fence Maintenance

What we need from those planning on coming to help:

– Please email me and let me know which day(s) you are able to make it and what time(s) you are available as soon as possible so we can start to form teams

– 1 to 2 volunteers who would be willing to prepare lunch on Saturday (BLCC will pay for the food, we just need cooks!)

What we hope to do on Saturday:

– Meet at the check in barn: 8:00-8:30
– Teams to leave as they are formed: 8:15-9:00
– Lunch: 11:45-12:30
– Afternoon shift: 12:30-3:30

What we hope to do on Sunday:

We will have team leaders available to take crews out, IF anyone would like to work on Sunday…there’s always plenty of work to do! We will provide a light lunch for anyone who wants to work both sessions on Sunday.

– Morning crew: 8:30-12:00
– Afternoon crew: 1:00-4:00

Please be sure to bring warm work gloves. Tools that may be useful if you’d like to bring your own: nippers, loppers, hand saws, chain saws, pretty much anything that can cut small trees or brush…
